Katie and the Blanket

The other day, I had just changed Katie’s diaper and had put her on the ground in her room. While I was disposing of the evidence, Katie went over to her crib and pulled her little green blanket through the slats. She quickly put this blanket over her head. So excited by her newfound situation, she ran full tilt straight ahead, which placed her nose to nose with her rocking-horse. She flew back and landed right on her bottom. It was just like a cartoon, the only thing missing were sound effects.

The more I watch my daughter, the more excitement I see in her. The simplest things get her all riled up, and it’s a lot of fun to watch. Sometimes I wish that I could get that excited about things. God is doing so much around me, but so often I take it for granted. I think it’s time for me to put a blanket over my head and run as fast as I can, see what God bumps me into.
