I am so excited about Team Impact, which starts tonight. As I write this, the athletes are driving up from Dallas and we start with a school assembly this afternoon followed by the service tonight (and all this week) at 7:00. I don’t know what they are doing tonight for the opening, but it should be awesome.
But the more I think about Team Impact, the more I think about the impact that God wants us to make. The athletes, the feats of strength, the school assemblies and the nightly events are only a portion of the impact that God wants our community to experience. God’s impact is not limited to this week, or to what a few strong men can do. God wants to use this week as a catalyst to continue to change hearts and lives in this town and all across the world. And your part of the impact is much greater than anything a bodybuilder can do.
You see, your part of the impact is being there and bringing a friend with you. This is how the message that Team Impact has gets into the hearts of people who need to hear. Then, after Team Impact leaves, your part of the impact keeps going. That is where you continue to grow and to help those around you to do the same. If we do not do our part to make this impact last, it will be a wonderful week but it won’t have nearly the power of true life change that God wants to do. Let’s get on board and make an impact that changes our town!
