No really, I do. It’s hard to explain, but here goes.
My work week isn’t like
most people. Instead of working Monday
through Friday I work Sunday through Thursday.
And while Sunday is technically my first day back at work, it’s anything
but another day in the office. Sunday is
what we work for all week. It is fun and
exciting and meaningful, especially this weekend’s service. There is work to be done, for sure, but it is
the stuff I really enjoy. So by the time
Monday rolls around I’m already a day into my work week, and an exhausting one
at that. In fact, compared to Sunday,
Monday is a breeze. And, I get to do the
office work that I enjoy the most, banging out the details of my talk for
Wednesday.
I really do have the
best job in the world.
I say all this not to
brag, or to bore you with the intricacies of my day-to-day schedule, but rather
to encourage you to find the best in each one of your Mondays. Everybody has things in their life that they
would change if they could, and often those become the focus of our
mindset. Instead, think of the little
things that you take for granted, the stuff that you enjoy, and the ways that God
has blessed you today.
Even though it is
Monday.
