Incomplete

I have three remote controls in my house and two children.  As a result, I never quite know where all my remotes are at one time (which I guess is better than not knowing where all my children are).  I can usually find two of the three, but the third is often some place completely random; in between the couch cushions, in a box of breakfast cereal, in the baby’s mouth.  And it’s always the remote that I need that is missing.  Always.  Some days I just want my remote control set to stay complete.

Often we get that same feeling of incompleteness in our lives, as if we are always missing just what we need.  Colossians 2:10 tells us that a relationship with Jesus completes us, that in Him we have everything we need.  Often, instead of looking to that relationship to complete us, we ask things or people or status or money or clothing or sports or grades or any number of other things to complete us.  Those are good things, but they can’t complete us and if we ask them to we only feel emptier.  God says that I’m already complete in Him, and today I want you to be encouraged to embrace this fact and live completely for Him.
