My Cluttered Desk

Often the state of my desk represents the state of my life. When things are calm and organized, so is my desk. You can see through all the glass to the memorabilia that I’ve placed beneath it. However, when things are crazy and out of control, then my desk mimics that by the way you can’t see that there is glass at all and the piles of papers, books, electronic equipment and stuff I’m really not supposed to lose stacks higher and higher. I’m sitting at a desk that is pretty cluttered. Things have been crazy for a few weeks now, and as the stress piled up so did the debris on my desk. But I had some brief computer issues today that forced me to slow down, and gave me some time to look at the madness in front of me. Sometimes in our lives, we need to do the same thing, slow down and organize ourselves. Often the way we treat people is representative of the stress level of our lives, and we don’t think about the things we say or do to those around us. We are only focused on the issues at hand, and so everything else kind of falls by the wayside. Sometimes we just need God to interrupt our busy lives and cause us to take stock of the way we are living and how we are treating the people around us so that we can really live the way He has called us to.
