Lebronathon

Tonight is the big night, the one we’ve all been waiting for. Tonight Lebron James reveals where he’ll be playing next year. The city that he names gets to throw a celebration, have a party, and (maybe) win a championship next year. But maybe not.

And if not, boy oh boy does Mr. James have a lot of explaining to do. See, this has been the lead story in basketball since Cleveland was out of the playoffs. I mean, while the playoffs were still going, we were talking about next year and Lebron James. All this hype isn’t good for one person.

I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but I’m just saying that sometimes we get our hopes up so high, only to come to the realization that reality doesn’t work that way. James (the book in the Bible, not the aforementioned egomaniacial hoops star) tells us that while we make our plans, God always has His plan. So often we focus on the “what ifs” and all the hype, and we fail to see the realities that are right in front of us. And so even though I’m just as curious as a lot of others out there about where Lebron will play next year, after the special airs tonight my life will not be drastically changed either way. But if I focus my life on God’s plans for me rather than all the hype of the “what ifs” in my life, then it can be.
